CASE STUDY ยท 02 ยท GLOBAL PRIVATE EQUITY
Enterprise-Level Listening at Global Scale
Industry: Global Private Equity ย |ย Survey Strategy ยท Platform Implementation ยท Ongoing Advisory
The Situation
This client is one of the largest private equity firms in the world โ managing hundreds of billions in assets across global markets, with offices spanning North America, Europe, and Asia. Their people operations are sophisticated, their standards are high, and their expectations of any external partner reflect both. When their Human Capital team decided to build a more rigorous employee listening infrastructure using Culture Amp, they needed a consulting partner who could operate at their level โ technically precise, strategically grounded, and capable of navigating a complex internal environment.
CultureC was brought in on retainer to provide that support: part platform expert, part strategic advisor, fully embedded in the work.
The Challenge
This wasn't a straightforward survey launch. The firm operates with significant information security requirements, a complex organizational hierarchy where employees regularly report across multiple structures simultaneously, and a global workforce spread across offices and deal teams. Every element of the program โ from data architecture to survey design to communications โ required careful coordination between their internal team, Culture Amp, and CultureC.
The survey question set itself reflected that complexity: 61 questions spanning multiple themes, designed not just for employee feedback but to integrate with the firm's broader human capital analytics and business intelligence infrastructure.
The Approach
CultureC served as the connective tissue of the engagement โ holding the thread between the firm's internal People and Analytics teams, the Culture Amp platform team, and the operational requirements of a global rollout.
On the survey design side, we conducted a full audit of the existing question set, reorganized 61 questions into logical thematic sections, aligned language across the survey for clarity and consistency, and ensured everything mapped cleanly to Culture Amp's reporting architecture. We also helped navigate a pilot program prior to the full launch โ incorporating participant feedback and refining the instrument before company-wide deployment.
On the advisory side, we worked with the team on communication strategy, demographic design, participation planning, and the structural decisions that shape how data gets reported and used. Throughout, we operated within the firm's security requirements and worked exclusively through their preferred systems and protocols.
The Outcome
The firm launched their full engagement survey with a program built for the rigor their organization demands. The platform implementation was clean, the question architecture thoughtful, and the internal team equipped to own and evolve the program over time.
The engagement established CultureC as a trusted ongoing advisor to their Human Capital function โ a relationship built on demonstrated expertise, operational reliability, and the ability to work inside complex organizations without adding complexity.
The Bigger Picture
High-performance organizations don't just need good survey tools โ they need partners who can translate those tools into something that works for their specific context. At this firm, that meant earning trust through precision, operating within real constraints, and delivering a program that their team could stand behind.
That's what it looks like to do this work at the enterprise level.
